What is the difference between product design and product engineering?

Product design defines what a product is — form, function and user interaction. Product engineering defines how it gets made — materials, tolerances, structural performance and manufacturing process. How long does product design take?

A focused single-part design can be complete in two to three weeks. A full product with multiple sub-assemblies, tooling considerations and validation typically runs three to six months. We give you a realistic range in the first call, based on scope rather than optimism.

Do you handle prototyping?

We handle prototyping support — design for the prototype process, coordination with 3D printing and machining suppliers, and design iteration based on what the prototype tells you. We do not run an in-house print farm, which means we recommend the right process rather than the one we own.

What file formats do you deliver?

Native SolidWorks, CATIA or NX files plus neutral formats — STEP, IGES, Parasolid — and 2D drawing packages as PDF and DXF. Everything is yours to keep, with no vendor lock-in on the design data.
