The challenge

Homeowners across Greater Vancouver wanted lower power bills and less exposure to rate increases, but no two houses were alike. Different pitches, different tree cover, different panel capacity.

In most cases a family wanted a straight answer about what their own roof could actually produce, not a standard package price.

What Redyna did

We built one repeatable process and then customised the system inside it. The same assessment, design, commissioning and handover standard applied to every home, so quality never depended on which crew turned up, while sizing stayed specific to each property.

Every design started from the household's own consumption. Annual usage, roof pitch and orientation, tree and neighbour shading, electrical service capacity and the offset the owner wanted decided each system between 8 and 15 kW.

Inverter architecture was chosen per roof. Homes with clean unshaded planes got string inverters; roofs broken up by dormers, chimneys or heavy shading got microinverters so one shaded module could not drag a whole string down.

Project overview

Redyna Technologies Ltd. developed and implemented residential solar PV solutions for multiple homeowners across the Greater Vancouver area.

Unlike a single large commercial installation, this initiative required Redyna to develop a repeatable engineering and installation methodology that could be adapted to different residential properties, roof configurations, electrical services and homeowner requirements.

Residential site assessment

Each property received an individual site assessment. The engineering team reviewed:

Electrical integration

The solar systems were integrated with the existing residential electrical systems. The engineering team coordinated PV electrical configuration, inverter connections, the main electrical service interface, protection devices, disconnects, grounding and monitoring.

The objective was to provide safe and reliable operation while maximizing solar energy utilization within the home.

Each installation underwent commissioning before handover. Testing included:
